When I first got my hands on this lube, I didn't know exactly what makes Pjur Light BodyGlide light. It has the exact same ingredients as the Original Bodyglide. But according to the Pjur website, it has a 20% lighter consistency.

2023 UPDATE: This product has been discontinued. Please check out our full lineup of Pjur Lubricants.

I like Pjur Original BodyGlide. I think it’s one of the best lubes on the market, and I felt very much the same about Pjur Light BodyGlide. In fact, I sort of wondered why they needed to make Pjur Light because the Original is so comfortable.

Well, the difference comes in when you consider the amount it takes. Per the Pjur site, “Our premium thinner formulation (30% lighter consistency than Pjur Original), silicone formula provides excellent skin-on-skin slide while allowing for more friction.” More friction, meaning that you would have to apply a whole lot more to get the same feeling as the Original BodyGlide. So if you find that the Original, or other silicone-based lubes are still too slick but you still prefer them to water-based lubes, this is a great choice.

Like the Original BodyGlide, Pjur Light BodyGlide is a silicone-based lubricant, which means that it stays slick until you apply soap and water both. I found this out after attempting to pick up a can of Diet Coke after a long session. Oops. Even with the light label, this lube will last forever and ever, so make sure you scrub up well when you’re done.

Silicone-based lubes are widely considered to be hypoallergenic, which makes them a great alternative to folks who have allergies or sensitivities to ingredients found in water-based lubes.

Also, this lube makes a fantastic non-oil-based massage oil. In fact, it's a favorite of our masseuse customers. It leaves skin feeling silky soft, no matter where you apply it. For someone like me who finds Aveeno to be too abrasive, the massage my partner gave me with just a couple drops here and there made my dry skin feel silky smooth and not irritated twenty-four hours on.

I was given the 1.02 fl oz. (30 ml) bottle with a screw-off lid to sample and while I was a little skeptical of the size at first, I found it to be the perfect size for slipping into your purse. It’s no bigger than a glue stick, and my fellow writer even had some lip balm that was about the same size. So if discretion is a concern but you’re always on the go, consider this tiny bottle. You can even peel the label off, which isn’t an option with some lubes (looking at you, WET). All of the others, except for the 1000 ml bottle are also screw off. The 1000 ml is more of a pull off.

While this lube is condom-safe, it is not safe for all toys. Make sure your toy is not made from a silicone blend before applying it. Toys that are 100% silicone should be safe, but always do a spot test first to make sure.

Overall Rating: 4 Stars

Final Verdict:

Pjur Light Bodyglide is the less-greasy alternative which means that it provides a little more friction. If you find other silicone-based lubes too strong, or you are just looking for the perfect massage oil, this could be your new favorite lube.
