In Europe, the home of the Durex brand, they've had the privilege of having these polyisoprene Durex Real Feel condoms on the market for many years now. Well, guess what? It’s finally here and we couldn't be more excited to give it a shot!

If you love the feeling of a latex condom, but have latex allergies, or if you’re just looking to try something new, polyisoprene is the condom material you've never heard of that you're going to love.

This is our smallest polyisoprene condom. It may even be our smallest non-latex condom.

Which means that if you or your partner need things a little more snug and you have a latex aversion, you've found your match.

The Durex Real Feel is also a traditional shaped condom, meaning that it's straight, all one size, and it has a reservoir tip at the end for added safety.

Due to my partner's girth, this condom ended up being a no-go for us. Polyisoprene seems to provide a nicer stretch than latex and other non-latex materials, but he still found it a little uncomfortable. It never broke on us, but we did switch to a SKYN Large eventually.

I wish we hadn't needed to though. The Durex Real Feel is super soft and crazy-thin. I've seen it compared by others to the Trojan BareSkin Non-Latex Supra in terms of the warmth and comfort that it transmits. With the exception of the size, this is a grade-A condom. Maybe they'll come out with a Real Feel XL soon.

Now, remember: polyisoprene is essentially latex without the proteins which cause an allergic reaction. So just like your other favorite Durex condoms, the Real Feel isn’t safe to use with oil-based products. It will erode like no one’s business. Instead, my partner and I combined it with our favorite silicone lube.

And just like latex condoms, polyisoprene does have a super strong scent. In fact, it may even be stronger than the LifeStyles SKYN Large, which I also reviewed. However, there is almost no taste, not even from the lube, which is smooth and water-based. It's not particularly long lasting though, and the silicone lube we added made the condom all the more awesome.

It's also worth noting that the box sold in Europe is red, whereas ours here in the US is orange. So if you get an orange package and you're used to the red, or you saw the red box online, don't worry. You're still getting the real deal.

Overall Rating: 3 Stars

Final Verdict:

The size of the Durex Real Feel condom was the only thing that put me off. I wish it fit my partner better because I'd love to use it. But if the measurements work for you and your partner, it's going to be your new favorite condom.
